QInteractive Sharing of Business and HR Expertise

11 July 2017

QInteractive 2017 - Another highly successful event

Firstly, we would like to thank everyone who attended QInteractive 2017 which was held on Friday, 30th June at Leicester Race Course.

We would like to extend a special thanks to our guest speakers and presenters Wasim Khan, Eileen Richards, Chris Darlington, Leanne Bonner-Cook, Chris Rees, Marcus McGee, Katrina Starky, Chris Hobson, Lucy Robinson, Sarah Higgins and Femil Atif,  for their hard work and sharing their knowledge and expertise  throughout the day, without them the day would not have been possible. The day started with Wasim Khan, MBE CEO of Leicestershire County Cricket Club providing us with an insight into his journey to that of CEO.

Notably the first and only current BME (black or minority ethnic) CEO in a professional sporting organisation in the UK! ‘Leading leaders’ is a subject all businesses struggle with at some time.

Wasim offered a sincere and unique synopsis of how he works alongside his team to ensure that they are delivering the best possible results for the business and themselves. Sarah Higgins of Corporate Coaching then divided the room in to interactive groups and posed questions to each group to debate on the following

  • what traits/qualities/behaviours do you value in other leaders and why?
  • what is your biggest strength as a leader and what do you want to develop further?
  • what are the biggest barriers to you or your team in having more effective leadership?
  • what top tip would you give to other leaders to do or stop doing in order to build higher performing teams?

The session certainly lead to some healthy debate, group sharing of ideas and philosophy that surround leadership - how to and what to avoid.

The morning continued with delegates choosing interactive workshops on topics such as Brexit for Business, Employment Law Update and Attracting and Retaining Talent.

After a successful networking lunch with delegates exchanging ideas and business thoughts and ideas, the afternoon sessions started with topics on Women in Business, Presenteeism and Directorial Responsibility for Health & Safety. A Q&A session brought the day to an end with our panel of experts discussing ‘Today’s Business, Tomorrow’s Profits’.

All experts are successful entrepreneurs and leaders within their chosen field and we would like to thank them all for their valuable contribution.
