Essential leadership and management skills

The leadership and management course is aimed at those new to managing a team of people or those wanting a refresher, this course covers the essential skills and knowledge areas for managing people.  Including the following:

  • Role of a manager
  • Leadership and management styles and adapting approaches for different situations
  • Promoting and developing effective working relationships and a supportive team environment
  • Decision making, delegating and managing time effectively
  • Techniques and approaches to managing performance effectively (including coaching and mentoring)
  • Preparing for and conducting difficult conversations
  • How to address poor performance and misbehaving employees

Course structure

The course is designed for up to 12 participants, it is delivered in an informal and interactive style encouraging group discussion.
