Looking ahead in 2020 what is to come from an employment law perspective.
So, what is on the cards!
March/April 2020
- Gender pay gap reporting must be submitted by 30 March 2020 for public sector employers who employ 250 or more staff and 4 April 2020 for private company or a charity who employ 250 or more staff.
- On 1 April 2020 the hourly rate for national minimum wage/national living wage rates will increase as follows:
£8.21 to £8.72 ages 25 and over
£7.70 to £8.20 ages 21 to 24
£6.15 to £6.45 ages 18 to 20
£4.35 to £4.55 ages 16 to 17
£3.90 to £4.15 for Apprentices under 19 or in the first year of Apprenticeship.
- Lower earnings limit threshold will rise from £116.00 to £118.00 in April.
- The accommodation offset rate will be £8.20 a day or £57.40 per week in April.
- The weekly pay rates for statutory maternity, adoption paternity, shared parental pay and maternity allowance will increase from £146.68 to £151.20 in April.
- From 6th April Parental Bereavement Leave will become a statutory entitlement and will be paid at £151.20 per week.
- Statutory sick pay will increase from £94.25 to £95.85 per week in April.
